This page is mainly for the information of Northants Police personnel and includes the location of Pitsford Reservoir

It is not necessary to own your own boat in order to take part. Members with their own dinghies are often looking for crews and the 'Contacts' page provides details of who to approach if you are interested in taking part.

Regular regattas are held on Pitsford Reservoir from May to September each year. Included in the sailing season are also 'Try Sail' evenings which can be arranged by contacting . These evening sails provide the opportunity for Force members to try the experience of sailing under controlled conditions.

Sailing at Pitsford is approached via the A508 near Brixworth

Although many force members have their own boats, the Section has a Mirror dinghy for the use of those without their own boat. The contact to use the boat is Roger Badcock.

It is also possible to hire boats from the Sailing School at the reservoir - contact the Principal at the sailing school via Tel: 01604-880248. Now called Northampton Watersports Centre, it offers a wide range of courses from April to October. Courses are run every week during the season offering tuition for complete beginners or those who have had a bit more experience. If you have never been on the water before, you could try it out with a Taster Session. Any craft at the school that is not being used for tuition is available for hire to experienced sailors.

The In-Force Regattas
These are held throughout the 'summer' months at Pitsford Reservoir. Currently they take place on a Thursday afternoon. Each year, around 7 regattas are arranged - details of recent and forthcoming in-force regattas can be seen on the Northants Regatta Results page.
