Phil Osborne

Phil Osborne takes over the Chairmanship of the Section from January, 2006. He sails a Laser dinghy, has his own yachts but also heads up the Northants Offshore team competing in Police regattas.

Section Secretary:
Ben Fathers

Ben has been sailing dinghies since he could fit in a lifejacket but these days, mainly in his Enterprise and more recently in a Laser.

As the new secretary, he has committed himself mainly towards attracting new membership to the joys of sailing, whether cruising or racing, in dinghies, yachts or related watersports.

Treasurer:
Steve Middleditch

Steve has been an Enterprise sailor for a number of years. He regularly takes part in the annual Three Rivers Race held on the Norfolk Broads.

Racing Secretary:
Dick Sivers

Although having retired from the Force in 1986, Dick has renewed his connection with the Sailing Section since 1998.

Dick runs the Police Sailing website on behalf of the National sporting body, Police Sport UK.

Bosun:
 Paul Beard
 

Paul Beard has made himself responsible for the maintenance of the Sailing Section dinghy.

He currently sails a Laser at Northampton Sailing Club

Membership of the Sailing Section is open to all police personnel as members of the Northamptonshire Police Sports Club. However if you, as such a member, wish to declare your interest in Force sailing you are welcome to contact the Section Secretary .

From time to time, due to the exigencies of the service, boat owners find themselves without a crew - and vice-versa. By declaring your interest you can be contacted and thus provided with the opportunity of getting on the water. Don't forget - besides a number of regattas held throughout the summer the Section can provide the opportunity to 'try sailing'..
