Access to Chew Valley Lake is easy as it is not far from the two major motorways in the west.

The biggest and closest landmark to the lake is Bristol International Airport, just off the A38.

Satnav sytems will direct you to a position on Wally Court Rd just to the west of the club entrance.

From the M4 westbound...Journey time from M4 to CVLSC - 30 minutes. 

Take the M32 into Bristol. At the end of the M32 turn left following signs for Bristol International Airport and A38. This will take you through Bristol and out of the other side.

Once into the countryside, the road goes into a dip at the bottom of which is a traffic-lighted junction. Beyond the junction is a 1/2 mile stretch of two lane carriageway. The road is straight and on an incline. At the end of this stretch the road reverts to single lane and immediately there is a left hand turning sign-posted Chew Magna and Winford. Turn left. 

Follow this road for approximately four miles, passing through Winford. You will come to a roundabout at which you should turn right towards Chew Stoke.  

After approximately 1 mile you will enter Chew Stoke and come to a Tee Junction. Turn right (signposted Chew Valley Lake.  

Once you pass the Garage in Chew Stoke turn left and proceed for half a mile until you see the entrance to Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club on the right. 

From M5 southbound...Journey time from M5 J18 to CVLSC - 30 minutes
Turn off the M5 at junction 18, signposted Bristol International Airport and A4. Follow the A4 along the side of the River Avon. Pass under the Suspension Bridge and half a mile further on take the right-hand fork up onto the flyover, signposted Taunton, Bristol Airport, A38 and Weston-S-Mare. 

Take the second turning off the flyover signposted Taunton and A38. Follow the road, passing the Ford Garage on your right. Go straight across the two roundabouts (if you need any last minute gear the Wet &Windy are second right off the first roundabout, opposite The Robins Pub). Continue following the signs for the A38/Bristol Airport as you go around the one way system. Follow the A38 out the Bristol.

From M5 northbound...Journey time from M5 J22 to CVLSC - 35 minutes
Turn off the M5 at junction 22 and follow the signs for A38 Bristol and Bristol Airport.

Continue up the A38 until you arrive at Churchill. In the village there is a crossroads with traffic lights. Turn right towards Bath on the A368.

Keep on this road for 8 miles passing through Compton Martin. Beyond the village there is a crossroads. Turn left, signposted to Chew Stoke. The turning is after a left bend so is difficult to see until the last minute. If you miss it take the next left in the village of West Harptree 

Follow the road for 4 miles into the centre of Chew Stoke. Take the right hand turning, just past the Stoke Inn. Proceed for half a mile until you see the entrance to Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club on the right.
