2011

Update 7th August, 2010:

Sunsail have announced the introduction of a brand-new fleet of 42 Farr-designed Beneteau First 40s, known as F40s, these will replace their current fleet of Jeanneau Sunfasts in April 2010. This means the 2011 PSUK's will be one of the first to make use of these fantastic new yachts.

We will be releasing the Entry Forms, Notice of Race and costings shortly. In the meantime take a look at the following link with pictures and details of the new yachts.

Update 23rd July, 2010:

Sunsail have promised to announce the new fleet of yachts for next season at Cowes Week ( first week in August ). Once this is known I will be able to ascertain cost of yacht hire, minimum number of crew, changes in Sunsail racing rules or Class rules of the fleet. This will all be in the Notice of Race to be published soon.

Update 15th June, 2010:

The 2011 Police Sport UK Yacht Championships will be hosted by The Metropolitan Police between the 9th and 13th May 2011. The event will take place in The Solent Area and is anticipated to be sailed in One Design Yachts chartered from Sunsail UK, Port Solent, Hampshire.

We understand that Sunsail UK hope to have replaced their matched fleet of Sunfast 37s to slightly larger 40 foot yachts before the date of the event. At this stage they have not fixed 2011 pricing for charter. They have however informed us that if competitors pay a Ł300 deposit before the end of July 2010 their charter price will be frozen at the same price as last year being Ł1,705.54 inc VAT.

Police Sport UK National Offshore Sailing Championships 2011

June, 2010

Dear All,

It is my intention to start early with the organisation of the PSUK offshore sailing championships with the sole purpose of encouraging as many forces at possible to enter. I am especially keen to attract entrants from forces who have not entered for a few years.

We have provisionally secured the Sunsail fleet for the 8th to 14th May, 2011 and I have been assured of new First 40 boats to make our championships more exciting.

I intend to base ourselves in Cowes yacht haven for the week to make communication and management easier. We will be having a formal dinner on the Thursday night in Cowes. We are all in agreement that this is an offshore event and to make it so the racing will be varied and involve distance. So be prepared to spend a night at sea. I am especially keen that this year passage race(s) are included weather allowing. Cost will as similar to last year as I can make it with all extravagances avoided.

I would be obliged if you are considering entering if you could make contact either to me or the MPSC club line by email to assist my planning. I will obviously need your contact details as well.
